Nune Ananyan – Soprano

Nune grew up in a deeply musical family and began her musical journey at an early age. At five, she joined Tigran Hekekyan’s choir in Armenia, performing regularly at various venues in Yerevan and developing an early interest in folk, classical, and jazz music.

At nine, she entered the Armenian Academy of Music and continued her studies after moving to Canada in 2005. She completed her ARCT diploma through the Royal Conservatory of Music and earned a Bachelor of Music degree from York University. While at York, she won the Concerto Competition in 2013, performing Khachaturian’s Piano Concerto.

Nune has participated in select vocal performances with the Toronto Operetta Theatre and The Edison Singers. Highlights include appearing as soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah for the City with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Beach Chorale (2022), as well as St. Matthew Passion among the many performances under the direction of Ronald Greidanus.

She is currently a full-time music educator at a Waldorf School, where her primary focus is teaching and nurturing musical growth in young people.
