Mozart’s music continues to transport listeners to a timeless world of unparalleled beauty and emotion. It seamlessly blends grandeur and intimacy, capturing the essence of the human experience. Mozart’s ‘Requiem’ has the power to evoke a myriad of emotions in the hearts of listeners, and endures as a cornerstone in classical music repertoire. Within his ‘Requiem’, the hauntingly beautiful Lacrimosa’s melancholic melodies, expressed through delicate orchestration, evoke a profound sense of longing and sorrow.
There can be no doubt that the 1984 movie adaptation Peter Shaffer’s play ‘Amadeus’ introduced new listeners to Mozart and his music. The majesty and mystery surrounding Mozart’s famous ‘Requiem’ continues to attract audiences today.
Other works from Mozart’s final year will complete the program.
