National Day of Truth and Reconciliation – September 30, 2020

In recognition of the ‘National Day of Truth and Reconciliation’, the Mississauga Chamber Singers present D. Geoffrey Bell’s ‘Requiem for the Innocent’. Bell’s music offers a reflective hopefulness in the face of fracture, grief and loss. The Mississauga Chamber Singers hopes that this presentation will give you pause to reflect on the inevitable truth which is the legacy of the residential schools experience.

The Mississauga Chamber Singers is missing performing its in-school presentations throughout the Peel Region. The ‘Gallery of Song’ brings young people into contact with the incredible legacy of images left to us by the Group of Seven plus Tom Thomson and Emily Carr. The result is a rare blend of visual art, poetry and music that celebrates the creative spirit and the great beauty of our land. Please enjoy this video which captures the essence of our performances.


Christmas, December 2020

As 2020 draws to a close, we are deeply aware how much we miss being able to share the joy of music with you. It is especially hard as we approach the Holiday Season. Although we are not able to be with you in person this year, we are pleased to share some of the beautiful music of the Season with our Christmas Message to you. May you find health, happiness, and peace during the Holiday Season and through the coming year.


Remembrance Day – November, 2020

Please take a moment to listen and remember as the MCS Chorus / Mississauga performs a poignant ‘Pie Jesu’ by Canadian composer James Wright. This composition was dedicated by the composer in response to the events of 9 /11 . The accompanying video includes images from past Remembrance Ceremonies in Mississauga.


Thanksgiving, October, 2020

During this special Thanksgiving season we are thinking of friends and family and remembering the joy of sharing music together. While we cannot be together during this time, we invite you to hear the women of the MCS Chorus performing John Rutter’s beautiful arrangement of ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ accompanied by colourful fall images found throughout Mississauga, Ontario. We hope you and your family are able to get together this year to enjoy Thanksgiving blessings!
